Cyphreinc Sorting Out the Hacks?

Early Friday evening Cyphreinc had a slight issue with someone doing what they do for the fun of it to prove a point to The Man because they can!

Pain in the proverbial for yours truly in the first instance and initially a nightmare trying to figure out if i'd lost this, that or t'other. Could I sort it out or what. That was a question 'n' half and was something i wasn't sure 'bout and to be honest, did i really keep a back up? More importantly, when was the last time i actually did that!

Phew ... No Worries on that there back up thang.

I've sorta got in the habit of doin' that one, which eased the pain of knowing whatever i did at the end of the day could be sorted somehow, just needed to figure out how best to proceed as i didn't have a clue at all what to do!

Off i went for a wonder round t'internet to discover an 'ickle bit more, but not knowing what i was looking for it took a while for me to sort something out. A few months back Wordpress servers had been hacked at root level, whatever that meant!

Anyways, They said that it was a low-level (root) break-in and had been diligently reviewing logs since and me password was safe and was somehow quite difficult to crack.... Now that be good news in my book.

Still lost in space off i go elsewhere, similar story from the Hacker News Space. Don't worry that's more geek info than even i could handle then i thought wow! How good is that?

Maybe Cyphreinc really does Rock :) as "Hackers appear to have stolen source code in a root-level attack on WordPress that could compromise its VIP clients including NASA, the BBC and the New York Times".

Ok, obviously i'm stretching the realms of believability there, but the point being is now i had something to work with and at least a possible solution to Cyphreinc's hacker.

At least Mr Hacker Dude was cool enough to leave tha message that nothing had been removed, so no harm done! Wonder if thy point was proven?

Nice One for that there unexpected, massive learning curve.

Cypheinc Podcasts have been nominated in the personality category for the European Podcast Awards 2011. That's the second year on the bounce now and who know's how this year will turn out? I was blown away with a top ten finish in the Uk last year which in my book ain't half bad, considering!

Who know's how that there voting will go this time 'round? Will ya drop by and do what you do? At the end of the day i'm over that there proverbial moon to be nominated and buzzin at that fact.

Nice One to Stella Marconi for the video soundtrack 'One Off Free' and I really hope that you who know who you are, appreciate that i would like to thank you very much for your time, patience and support as the Cyphreinc Podcasts Pipeline develops.

Peace & Tranquility with Cyphreinc Pipeline

Karma, Ying & Yang, Zen, Chillin?

Whatever thy phrase be for finding your own space, being comfortable with thyself & never giving up. It's not about the clothes or the way you look, it's about your self belief, a can do attitude to whatever. Even if it all goes Pete Tong, you had a go!

Some say it's an attitude, others suggest your wasting thy time and some even ask why bother at all! What do I Know. Possibly the same as you? The man will tell you that you can't do this, that or t'other and when you ask why he'll say it's not within the remit of your pay grade or because I say so or any other of those similar phrases and that's the sound of the alarm bells ringing in me head! Remember back in the day, when you were a kid and told don't you dare do blah, blah, blah, bet you still did that whatever eventually? Hope you did anyways.

So there be one or two changes to life this end of the coil, i'm not going to bore you with details at all. There's enough people who want to fight the world online with there words and those that say they can do this, that or t'other much better than you or I and when you ask 'em to show you what they've been doing the same lame excuses come out. No doubt you can recall a similar kind of conversation for yourself?

Cyphreinc has come a long way over the last couple of years, and that fact is a massive buzz to me. What the future holds, to be honest i really don't have a clue, some like to plan their life out to the umpteenth degree.

An 'ickle bit of knowledge is a dangerous thang so i've heard said, you know when you want to try something new, 'ave a go just because you can, does that mean it'll bomb?

Cyphreinc Pipeline is a space where i'm going to try out whatever and see if it works, i'll chat to the wall, walk the girls, come back and have a brew, tweak it again and go with the flow. A pop up player is in the pipeline for the now. It's not to try to get you to watch or listen 'cause you're already doing that believe it or not, i thought it would be a plan and that's good enough reason to give it a go.

Whilst Lou watches the world go by in the sky, i thought i'd get round to sorting out a few changes needed on the code for the Choon Creators Video pages, since YouTube / Google did what they do and changed thangs without a boo to a goose! Means i need to tweak a few thangs to move on.

You remember that there custom player that i'd been using for time on the home page?

Well it's now been changed to this 'ere player below! To be honest the principle's the same, though you get more screen real estate for each video, sorry, what i mean to say is that you get to watch one particular video at a time, depending on the size you have chosen for the player, with that there little box icon thingy me jig on the left of the + sign to scroll through the playlist should your desire at any time.

Whilst some have created on t'internet 'bout the lack of notice for the removal of that there custom player page, it's taken a while for me to get me head round wether i change or go with the flow and to be honest, getting me head round something new as time goes by is a good thang.

So i'll leave you in peace for the now and get on with whatever as Cyphreinc Podcast Day is just round tha corner. No doubt the Dylan video 'things have changed' will be removed soon and get replaced with this is no longer available or whatever.

Anyways you and i both know that many of the links will be out of date come the end of the year as you all change from MySpace to wherever!

Still Sounds Like a Plan

Tha Winnie ain't quite hit tha' fan as yet! Though there still be time, that's for sure.

Pete Tong's dropped by for a brew 'n' a wild turkey or three several times recently and thangs seem to be going tickety boo at least in my head for the now. The principle of the plan is in progress and most definitely sounds like a plan worth sticking with in that there quest at getting thangs sorted for whenever, by yours truly.

Tha Video's & Choons are up on itunes, the audio & photo's seem to be sorted thangs seem to be slipping into place which ain't half bad from my perspective. Tha clock be be a tickin' as ya' know old father time is always one step ahead.

I've managed to get my head round the code that gets mp3s 'n' mp4s on t'internet and in my book that be no mean feat. Sorting out the links, categories & whatever and trying to work out what works next for Cyphreinc. So tha plan in my head is as always work in progress, and ya' know this ain't a job! So far, me thinks thangs are going sweet as and that's when Pete knocks on tha door one more time for a brew ...

'tis almost time ta brush off that there shite from me boots and hit tha road.

When it sounds like a plan, you've just gotta go with the flow and do what you do and 'av a go and that make's it al'wrigt by me! One never knows as and when or if it all goes Pete Tong what can one say at least you gave it a shot and that's a buzz in my book.

What's the worst thang that could happen? That be down to Cyphreinc who could lose everythang, create a nightmare of whatever, though you know that ain't gonna happen gotta thinking positive that's surely the way to go some may say ...

You know it just could work out and thy may like... I know tha dude above said no more negative's and would you believe that i've ticked all his boxes so it's time to move on.

There's always something going on @ Cyphreinc Podcasts, listening to new choons, sending out of curiosity request and generally trying as we are to learn something new in our spare time away from the mill with a tweak or two here and there on what we have already done, you know how it goes?

Today is just going to be one of those days! As we try to get our heads round the loss of the pc which was used to do most everything we have done over the last few years.

We have decided that it's best to put Cyphreinc Podcast #016, scheduled for 13th August on hold for now, If you stay you won't be sorry.

Everything will be Hunky Dory in time following the technical problems with the pc, we'll be back doing what we do, whatever that may be soon, so for the now it's time to try and get our heads round working on the why, not the whatever!

Failure to Communicate

Sometimes you catch something on that there t'internet thang you really weren't looking for and before you know it, with no pre-conceived ideas or expectations in the first place your on a voyage of discovery into the unknown and Whatever!

You just know that Why rocks!

A click see and play here or there and before you know it, even if you did set out with a crumb of an idea, a sort of mental image of what you wanted to find, though with no real specific question in mind, your going with the flow and where you end up? Well that's something thy will never be able to answer.

That's how this trip sort of started!

How many times have you ever heard the like?

It would blow my mind if i tried to count the number of times i've heard that kind of thang said to me in my time, boggles me swede to even try and put a number on it if i was to be honest! Other well worn similar saying's like:

Don't you think it's time you grew up and started acting your age
Who do you think you are
What are you on

Actually the list is as long as that there preverbial arm of yours and not always as subtle or polite, anyways you get the drift. Their be one i keep hearing a lot at the moment that goes sorta like: Why do you bother doing what you do when you ain't making any brass? You know that you can't keep doing something for nothing it's the coin that spins this 'ere coil!

Anyways, maybe we'll drop some more inabit but for the now the choon quest continues and if you like what you hear why not pass it on! Should you fancy droppin by with a recommendation or three for a future Cyphreinc Podcast that helps float our boat.

The "out of curiosity" request may get answered or sometimes not that's the way the cookie crumbles. Time and patience is all that's needed and eventually one or two of thee will get thy head round that. Keep Doin' What You Do!

Cyphreinc RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are very much out and about in that there t'internet space. Who knows you may have had a Click See already and for that i say, Ta Very Glad for Thy Support.

Depending on what browser your using, sometimes you may only see a page of code! Don't Stress, it ain't thy fault, could just be that your browser doesn't like RSS feeds.

You'll most definitely have seen that there orange button on so many sites you've visited already, just in case you’re not quite sure what's what with those RSS thingy me jigs why not have a click see and play at the RSS Cyphreinc Podcasts post.

You'll find a video from the dudes with a can do attitude at Common Craft entitled RSS in Plain English.

If you click on the RSS button you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, by dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader. Most sites that offer feeds use a similar orange button, but some may just have a normal web link.

That's how it all started ...

Well, not quite though it's close enough for now!

This 'ere space is a new addition to Cyphreinc for 2010, sorted just in time for Cyphreinc Podcast #009. Get your head round that! Cyphreinc podcasts available online, to date that's over 100 bands / artistes (117 if you really want to know:) on nine Cyphreinc Podcasts, blows me away does that and with lots more to come…

I have no idea where the out of curiosity request will lead in the future and that’s a massive buzz, would you believe that’s actually an impossible thang to say at any given time as permission is the key! So say yay.

One thang I do know is that ......

There’s always something going on between Me & Her. I like this and she likes that, its cool in my opinion and look warm in hers. The choons rock, and more and more people listen. As always, a smooth well oiled production machine with endless options covered.

There’s always something going on and thats the good thang about it, just when you think you have a handle on whatever, you may find it works well in another way, so it’s time for a new approach.

A break may be needed, a malt or two, walk the girls and just maybe the penny will drop? What can one say, its a well oiled northern machine that works like clockwork, not clockwork orange.

Anyways, in no particular order, what’s next for this here space ...
